Learning from Eachother...
Error
A coach asked the referee "how many games will my player get for the 5 + GM he was assessed. The referee responded "probably 2 or 3 games..."

What we Learned
In the case of penalties that require a game report the referee must do two things: 1) call the penalty and 2) report the penalty to the division direction. WE DO NOT tell the coaches or anyone else anything about the suspension because we do not know the player's history and suspension is not our job. The division director deals with suspensions. Therefore, if a referee is quizzed about suspensions he or she should always respond "I am sorry, I do not know about suspension lengths. You will need to contact your division director."
